Music Education in Action

Syracuse Chorale hosted a Chorale Collaborative for three years - 2016, 2017 and 2018. Several local high school choruses partcipated in the Chorale Collaborative workshops. At this event, each ensemble sang two pieces that they had performed during the school year and concert season. After each performance, the director of another ensemble interacted directly with the performing group and director, providing feedback on their performance, highlighting the performers’ strengths, and suggesting improvements.

The Chorale Collaborative met several goals of our organization—to promote musical excellence, to promote dedication to life-long participation in music-making and to support the arts in the community. We were energized by the enthusiasm of the young singers.

Chorale Collaborative 2018

For our June 2018 Chorale Collaborative, we were joined by Hannibal and Solvay High School. The workshop included:
