When to Join
The best time to join is at the start of the new concert seasons in September or January.  Please consider joining us for our Fall 2025 season. Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, nights at 7:00 p.m. in mid-September at Pebble Hill Presbyterian Church at 5299 Jamesville Rd, Dewitt NY 13214

Rehearsals
At the heart of our performances is an ensemble of singers committed to working toward the common goal of creating a well-coordinated and inspired representation of the composer’s intentions. It is during the rehearsal process where the true foundations of fine performances are established through the direction of Dr. Sean Linfors. With full attendances at all rehearsals, we can learn together and achieve great performances.

Attendance
To achieve the goals of the ensemble, attendance is required. Any member that cannot make it to a rehearsal is required to notify the director as soon as possible. Send notices to attendance@syracusechorale.org.

When
We rehearse Tuesday evenings from September through mid-May. We begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. with a short warmup. We take a short break to conduct Chorale business and to develop community among members. Rehearsal ends at 9:00 p.m.

We inform members in advance of planned cancellations, and will contact current members promptly regarding weather-related cancellations.

Where
We rehearse in the Fellowship Hall of Pebble Hill Presbyterian Church (5299 Jamesville Rd, Dewitt NY 13214). Enter from the north or south parking lots.

Sheet Music
Sheet music or music scores are purchased or obtained by Syracuse Chorale and loaned to members. To avoid replenishing fees, all music loaned to members is to be returned to Syracuse Chorale immediately following the performance.

Performances
We typically hold two concerts each year, which will be held in December and May for 2024-2025.

Concert Folders
The chorale owns black concert folders which are lent to all members for each performance.

Concert Attire
Members supply their own performance attire. The required attire is as follows.
  • Black skirt/dress (cocktail to floor length) or pants, with 3/4-length or full-length black blouse or dress sleeve, and black shoes and black hosiery.
  • Black suit with black dress shirt or black pants with black dress shirt and black socks and black shoes.

Dress Rehearsal
Dress rehearsals are typically held the day prior to performance, and typically for a period of two hours. Specific dates and times are communicated at rehearsals and via email and our Facebook member group.

When
Performances are typically held at 7 p.m. on Saturdays or 4p.m. on Sundays. Performances with collaborations will be held at different times and typically on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Where
Concert performances are held at a variety of venues in the Greater Syracuse area. Specific venues will be communicated at rehearsals and via email and our Facebook member group.

Selling Tickets
Chorale is a non-profit organization funded primarily through member dues, ticket sales, grants and fundraisers. Each member is asked to sell a minimum of four (4) tickets each to help continue funding our organization.

After the Performance
Any loaned property of Syracuse Chorale must be returned immediately following the performance. This includes black music folders, sheet music/scores, and any other loaned material.
